Homemade Chips and Salsa

Hello food lovers!

It’s time for a healthy snack: Chips and salsa!

This is one of my personal favorite snacks! It’s the perfect snack if you have a salt craving, but want to remain eating healthy at the same time!

Instead of purchasing salsa from your local supermarket, you can make your own!! It’s super easy and quick!

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 diced medium onion
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 2 chopped large tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons of chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon EACH of salt, pepper, chili powder and garlic powder
  • wheat tortilla chips

Once everything is chopped, put into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Get some side dishes and a plate for the chips and dig in!

Some benefits from eating homemade chips and salsa are that it is low in calories, full of vitamin C and actually helps fight a cold! Tortilla chips also contain fiber, which aids in digestion! The lime juice is also full of healthy vitamins and minerals that your body needs for the day!
