Avocado Toast

Hello fellow college students!

It is time for a Quick Makes recipe!! These recipes are quick and on the go when you’re in a rush to go somewhere and the perfect healthy snacks!

Tired of the same old breakfast routine? Need to try new foods not offered in your college cafeteria? Well, now it’s time to try avocado toast!

I know, you’re probably thinking, “Ew, that sounds kinda gross,” but if you love guacamole or mashed up avocados, this is perfect for you. For those who have never tried avocado, now is your chance!!! Never be afraid to try something new!

I have to admit I didn’t think I would like it, but I tried it and ended up LOVING it.

I recently visited my friend, Emily, in Winter Park, Florida over winter break. She took me to this little cafe place called Barnie’s and that’s where I heard of avocado toast for the first time. (I took the picture below!)

Alright, so here’s what you need:

– 2 avocados (mashed)
– 2 pieces of wheat or whole grain bread (your choice)
– Place bread in toaster for about 1 minute or so – you don’t want your toast too hard!
– 1/2 teaspoon of lemon or lime juice on each slice of toast
– sprouts

You can get all of these ingredients at your local grocery store and the best part, it’s cheap!!

Spread the mashed avocados on the toast. Drizzle some lemon or lime juice to add a tang of flavor and top it off with some sprouts!

Although they look weird, sprouts are extremely rich in vitamins and protein and give you a lot of energy to keep you going through the day!

Avocados also help with reducing weight, regulating your blood sugar and lowering your cholesterol!

I promise, it’s super good, super healthy and super easy for college students to make!

Enjoy everyone!
